Cooperation of the state and non-governmental non-profit organizations in combating labour exploitation in the Czech Republic

The submitted thesis focuses on the cooperation of the state and non-governmental non-profit organizations in fighting labour exploitation in the Czech Republic. It is one of the most frequent forms of the human trafficking in the CR. The thesis is based on several theories and concepts, such as the actor - network theory, the institutional theory, the Four "C" theory, the NNO theory or the dignified work concept. The thesis analyses the concept of the policy on labour exploitation in the Czech Republic with a focus on the cooperation of main actors from state and non-profit sectors in fighting labour exploitation and proposes how to improve this cooperation. The thesis defines different relevant terms as well as the term "labour exploitation". It also presents statistical data concerning this phenomenon. An analysis of policy documents on a transnational and national level is used to analyse the policy concept. The thesis also works with a quick analysis of actors and semi-structured interviews with eight experts from public and non-profit sector - specifically with employees of the Asylum and Migration Policy Department of the Ministry of the Interior, the Crime Prevention Department, the State Labour Inspection Office and with social workers of the non-profit organizations La Strada and...

Forced Labour in the Czech Republic

Forced Labour in the Czech Republic Abstract The submitted dissertation thesis examines so far neglected issue of forced labour in the Czech Republic in its complexity, i.e. both its lawful (e.g. work performed by imprisoned persons) and unlawful forms. It seeks to discover whether the present law (and extra-legal regulation) on this topic is sufficient. For this purpose it examines not only the corresponding law across individual branches of law, but also its place in the historical and moral- philosophical context. In the first parts, the submitted thesis deals with the existence of free will as a precondition of considering a work freely chosen and with the existence and content of objective morality as a precondition of considering anything morally right. Special attention is dedicated to forced labour during Protectorate and communist regime in Czechoslovakia. The core parts of the submitted thesis consist of an analysis of corresponding international, European and national law. Human trafficking in the agenda of international organisations

This Bachelor thesis is concerned with the influence of international organizations on the trafficking in human beings. First part of the work describes historical background of human trafficking, but also the definition of this criminal activity and types of exploitation of human beings within the framework of trafficking in human beings. The paper also tries to come up with statistics concerning human trafficking, especially the victims and their age, gender, origin and type of exploitation. Other statistics concerns the countries of origin, transit and destination, which are most frequently used towards human trafficking. Last chapter of the first part deals with international organizations which are fighting against human trafficking. Among those international organizations, there are government organizations like UN or EU, but also nongovernmental organizations, which usually focus on helping the victims of human trafficking. The second part of this work is focusing on particular international organizations-UN, EU, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. Documents concerning human trafficking are chosen in the files of these organizations, with the purpose to find the definition of human trafficking, punishment of this crime, prevention and the protection of victims of human trafficking...
